Palm Cove AustraliaUnlike other beach resorts, Palm Cove is not overdeveloped, lending itself to a comfortable, casual atmosphere, yet with world-class facilities. In Palm Cove, you can eat traditional fish and chips wrapped in paper while enjoying a beachside sunset or you can dine in the many five star restaurants. At last count, there were more than 20 restaurants within seven minutes walk of the Amphora Resort. All of the beachfront shops and activities are located within the same stretch. Thus, you can experience complete and utter relaxation at the beach or participate in numerous fun-filled activities.

Located only 20 minutes drive north from the tropical city of Cairns, and 30 minutes from Port Douglas, Palm Cove is an easily accessible holiday destination on its own, or as a part of a larger itinerary. Once you've discovered Palm Cove, you'll want to return year after year.

Once you have stayed in Palm Cove, then we believe you will find, as many of guests have, that Palm Cove is the place where you will stay next time. No doubt you will visit Port Douglas and Cairns City Centre, but they’re not the best places to stay.

palm coveIn Palm Cove, you will find that throughout the day and in the evening, that it is difficult to find a place to park on the Esplanade; yet if you go for an early morning walk, there is hardly a car to be seen because all the people who have spent the day or evening in Palm Cove have gone home. Port Douglas is quite famous and justifiably so. Bill Clinton stays there at the Mirage on the beach, but very few people can afford that. Four Mile Beach is a very nice beach, but the resorts are not located on the beachfront; rather most are located on surburban streets. Besides, Port Douglas is an additional forty minutes from the airport, and for seasoned travelers, that is important. Cairns is also quite famous as a tourist destination, but unfortunately has the trappings of a tourist trap.

The transfer business in the Cairns area is an industry by itself. Even if you hire a car, you may find that you need transfers. For example, if you travel up to Kuranda via the Scenic Railway and come down via Skyrail, you will need to transfer at the bottom so that you can pick up your car. As an alternative, you can travel both to and from the terminals via the blue Sunbus, which also passes along the Esplanade.
